Hi! I’m Ali,
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the founder of Mindful Moon Counseling. I knew I was interested in being a therapist, since around the age of 7! Don’t ask my age, just know I’m in the 30+ club, lol. I am grateful to have a wealth of experience in various fields of advocacy and support. Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years working with children and families, which ultimately fostered my deep passion for helping others. I advocated for children and families involved in high-conflict court matters, focusing on severe psychopathology, co-parenting, mediation, and guardian ad litem services. I also provided career counseling to college students, assisting them in navigating their future paths. In Essex County, New Jersey, I worked with unhoused populations, connecting them with essential resources to improve their quality of life. Additionally, I volunteered for the Crisis Text Line, offering support to individuals struggling with urgent mental health related issues.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, meaning I draw from a variety of approaches to meet each client’s needs. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques. This allows me to tailor the work we do together to fit your individual goals and challenges in a way that feels both practical and affirming.
In session, I offer compassionate, neurodivergent-affirming therapy, for individuals, couples, and families. I am deeply committed to creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, heard, and understood—where your unique experiences are honored and respected.
As someone who is personally on the autism spectrum (formerly diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome), I bring a unique perspective to my work. My own experiences navigating life as a neurodivergent individual deeply inform how I approach therapy, especially when working with others who identify as neurodivergent.
